Join AI learning specialist Thomas Tillmann to explore how AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), in particular, can fundamentally transform individual learning within your organisation. Rather than replacing human learning processes, LLMs provide unprecedented opportunities to personalise, accelerate, and deepen learning experiences when used thoughtfully.
This interactive session will unpack the core principles of how LLMs can empower staff to become more effective, autonomous learners — while maintaining critical thinking and human agency.
What we’ll cover:
- The learning partnership paradigm: understanding how LLMs function as intelligent learning companions rather than answer machines — and why this distinction matters.
- Empowering individual learning journeys: frameworks to help staff leverage LLMs to create personalised learning paths, practise complex skills, and receive immediate feedback.
- Responsible AI learning practices: evidence-based approaches to maintaining critical thinking, avoiding over-dependence, and ensuring learning remains human-centred.
Why is it important for people to learn this skill?
The potential of LLMs to transform learning isn’t about the technology itself – it’s about fundamentally changing how individuals can engage with knowledge, practice skills, and develop expertise. When staff understand how to use LLMs as sophisticated learning partners, they can accelerate their professional development, explore complex topics more deeply, and maintain continuous learning habits. However, realising this potential requires understanding the underlying logic of how LLMs work and developing responsible usage practices that preserve critical thinking and human judgment.
Who is this relevant for?
This workshop will add value to Learning & Development professionals, training managers, HR leaders, and organisational learning champions who want to help their staff harness LLMs for more effective individual learning while maintaining responsible AI practices.
About the Subject Matter Expert
Thomas Tillmann has spent over two decades at the intersection of human learning and organizational transformation. After studying humanities and sharpening his strategic thinking at McKinsey & Company, he discovered his passion for reimagining how people learn and grow within organizations. Since 2006, he has been on a mission to help companies, organizations, and government entities unlock their learning potential through innovative approaches that put human agency at the center.
As co-founder of Lernhacks, a Germany-based consultancy dedicated to learning, Thomas has witnessed firsthand how technology can either enhance or hinder genuine learning. Today, he’s particularly fascinated by the profound potential of Large Language Models – not as replacements for human thinking, but as sophisticated learning companions that can amplify our natural curiosity and accelerate our growth. His work focuses on helping organizations navigate this new frontier responsibly, ensuring that AI serves to empower learners rather than diminish their critical thinking capabilities.
