Safeguarding & Mentoring

It’s important to consider what mentoring isn’t – it isn’t therapy, so it’s important to recognise when the mentee is sharing or experiencing something that falls outside of the mentorship relationship and direct them to the appropriate systems of support. Remember your role as a mentor/mentee and prepare for where to direct people, seek advice if unsure and resist the temptation to step in and ‘help’ if the issue falls outside of your mentorship remit.
