Leading Roleplays
When people hear roleplays they usually dread what comes next! People are fearful of looking stupid or getting it wrong. As a facilitator we have the opportunity to create an environment where people can engage with roleplay in a safe, creative and confident way. In this video discover how you can successfully set up, lead and debrief a roleplay. Understand that successfully setting up a roleplay involves building psychological safety, establishing roleplay parameters and making the roleplay creation a shared experience. Discover how to lead a roleplay by slowly easing participants into situations, by encouraging diverse ways to engage with a roleplay and by reducing the burden for individuals to ‘take turns’. Finally, remove the stress of ‘getting it wrong’ by shifting the focus of the roleplay to explore worst case scenarios and shift the focus from ‘best’ to ‘useful’.
